(3/12/2019 emailed 21 Republican Senators up for re-election in 2020)

Adam Schiff said it beautifully:

  • “Trump finally submitted a budget (a month late).
  • Let’s take a look, shall we?
  • $8 billion for a wall Congress rejected.
  • $840 billion in cuts to Medicare.
  • Trillion dollar deficits for the next four years.
  • You know what, Mr. President, keep your budget.
  • We’ll take it from here”.

Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer were quite eloquent as well:

“President Trump hurt millions of Americans and caused widespread chaos when he recklessly shut down the government to try to get his expensive and ineffective wall, which he promised would be paid for by Mexico. The same thing will repeat itself if he tries this again. We hope he learned his lesson.”

It would be wise for Republicans for put an end to this wall foolishness:

  • Vote to revoke the false national emergency this week
  • Should Trump veto the resolution, join with Democrats and over-ride the veto putting an end to this nonsense about the wall once and for all
  • Work with Democrats and “own” Congressional oversight of the purse strings fashioning a budget that takes care of all Americans — not just rich, old, white Americans.

To do otherwise will mean:

  • Relentless House oversight every 6 months on the faux national emergency
  • Lost military construction projects and dollars in your home state
  • A second government shut-down of the 116th Congress
  • Lots of angry voters in your state and this country blaming Republicans for the mess we will be in.
  • 22 New Senate Democrats Taking Oath of Office January 2021.
