The 21 Series: U.S. Senate Oath of Office — Remember This?
(2/24/2019 emailed 21 Republican Senators up for re-election in 2020)
U.S. Senate Oath of Office:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.
Do you not remember taking this oath on January 3, 2019? It was only six weeks ago. You will be given an opportunity to support and defend the Constitution of the United States in two weeks’ time when the House Resolution to Disapprove Trump’s manufactured national emergency comes to your floor for a vote.
Will you uphold the sacred Senate Oath of Office or will you be a sycophant for a criminal in the White House who seeks to destroy the Constitution?
Honestly, this is your Waterloo. There will be no coming back if you do not vote to defend the Constitution. All eyes are on you. The 2020 elections are just around the corner.
